Full-Year Program for 3 years of age.

For dancers 3 years of age, Baby Ballet is an age-appropriate introduction to classical ballet in a structured and encouraging classroom environment. Dancers begin developing coordination, musicality, poise, and grace while learning foundational ballet skills. We also introduce classroom etiquette, listening skills, independence, and teamwork, helping young dancers build both confidence and a strong foundation for continued dance training.

To build our dancers confidence and celebrate their achievements, Baby Ballet students perform in two professional stage performances in the season; A Winter Recital in January as well as a Year End Recital in June.

Access to a private classroom app for each individual class is also part of your program enrollment! Monthly video posts will allow you to stay updated on what we have been working on in class and assist parents in staying connected to their child’s dance journey. We will also use the app to provide reminders on important updates or events happening within the studio that are specific to your program.

IS MY 3-YEAR-OLD READY FOR BALLET?

Starting dance is a big milestone for a three-year-old, and children do not need previous dance experience to join Baby Ballet. They do need to be potty trained and able to enter the classroom independently, as all Dance Discovery programs are unparented.

Some nervousness at the beginning is completely normal. If a dancer becomes upset once inside the classroom, our instructors will gently comfort them and may encourage them to observe until they are ready to participate. If they remain inconsolable, we will return them to their parent or guardian, and they are welcome to try again when they feel ready.

Our goal is not to rush young dancers into the classroom, but to help them develop the independence and confidence needed to enjoy a positive first dance experience.

REQUIREMENTS
Students must be 3 years of age by June 1, 2026. Students must be potty trained.

COST
Baby Ballet is a 30 min weekly class at $748 annually. Your annual fee includes your lessons for the term and your recital costume! Fees are payable in 4 installments; full details on payment procedures can be found on our policies page.

SESSION
Baby Ballet is part of our Full-Year Program; the next session will commence September 12, 2026 and conclude June 12, 2027.

No. Baby Ballet is specifically designed for three-year-olds. The class introduces foundational ballet skills at an age-appropriate pace while helping dancers develop coordination, musicality, listening skills, classroom etiquette, teamwork, and independence.

No previous dance experience is required for Baby Ballet. The program is designed as an introduction to dance and classical ballet for three-year-olds.

No. Baby Ballet is an unparented class, and dancers must be able to enter the classroom independently. Regular classes are closed to parent viewing to help dancers focus and become comfortable participating on their own.

Parents are invited to scheduled Watch Weeks during the season and can also follow their dancer’s progress through the private classroom app.

It is normal for young dancers to need time to adjust. We encourage families to prepare their child ahead of time so they know they will enter the classroom independently. If a dancer isn’t ready to enter or becomes inconsolable, sometimes the best choice is simply to try again the following week.

Yes. Baby Ballet dancers participate in both our Winter Recital in January and Year End Recital in June. Dancers prepare well in advance, and our studios are equipped with stage lighting that allows instructors to familiarize young dancers with elements of the performance environment before recital day.
