Wearing the correct dance attire is essential for training success.

DANCE CLASS ATTIRE & DRESS CODE

Wearing the proper dance attire helps dancers arrive prepared and ready to learn. Dancewear is designed to allow students to move freely while giving instructors a clear view of alignment, posture, and technique so they can provide appropriate corrections.

Different dance disciplines also require different footwear and clothing. Ballet, jazz, tap, acro, and hip hop each place different demands on the dancer, which is why attire requirements may vary by class. Hair should also be secured appropriately so it does not interfere with movement or become a distraction during class.

Learning to arrive with the correct uniform, shoes, and hairstyle is also part of developing the preparation, responsibility, and self-discipline that dance training encourages.

Yes. Footwear requirements vary by dance discipline. Ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and other styles may require different shoes or attire. Always check the current Dance Discovery attire requirements before purchasing.

Dance Discovery’s shoe and uniform requirements, with the exception of hip hop attire, can be purchased through All 4 Dance in Edmonton or And All That Jazz in Sherwood Park.

Yes. We recommend clearly labelling your child’s dance shoes with their name before classes begin.
